Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
BusyBodi is a free map app for finding pop-ups, launches, markets and hidden gems in London and Bristol. We collect as little about you as possible. This policy covers the BusyBodi iOS app and busybodi.org.
Who we are
BusyBodi is run by Amber Miller, a sole trader based in Bristol, UK, trading as BusyBodi. Amber is the "controller" of any personal information described here. You can reach us at busybodiclub@gmail.com.
The short version
- There are no user accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- Your location stays on your phone.
- We do not use advertising tracking, we do not use cookies to track you, and we never sell data.
- The only personal information we actively hold is any email you choose to send us.
What we collect and why
Your location (only if you allow it). If you give permission, the app uses your location on your device to show pins near you. It is not sent to us or stored by us. You can turn it off at any time in your iPhone settings (Settings, Privacy and Security, Location Services, BusyBodi) and still browse the map.
Saved events. If you save events, they are stored on your device, not with us. Deleting the app removes them.
Emails you send us. If you email busybodiclub@gmail.com, we use your message and email address only to reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering people who contact us). We keep these emails for up to 12 months.
Basic technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and device or browser type) for a limited period so the service works and stays secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (security and reliability).
We do not send marketing emails. If we ever start an optional email list, we will only email people who choose to sign up, and we will update this policy first.
Who helps us run BusyBodi
- Base44 hosts the website and app backend, including server logs.
- Apple distributes the app through the App Store. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may share anonymised app statistics with us.
- Google (Gmail) holds emails sent to busybodiclub@gmail.com.
They only process information to provide their service to us.
International transfers
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, for example in the US or EU. Where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, or the UK and US "data bridge".
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we do not hold accounts, most requests will be about emails you have sent us. Just email busybodiclub@gmail.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
BusyBodi is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us their information, email us and we will delete it.
Cookies
We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising, so there is no cookie banner. The website may use cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work.
The website also saves a few small settings on your device (using your browser's local storage), such as your chosen city, banners or prompts you have dismissed, that you have seen our disclaimer, and simple visit and save counts. These stay on your device, are not used to track you, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
If we change how BusyBodi uses personal information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
